My Story
Hello! My name is Nana-Yaa Adu and I am your PYP school counselor for the 21'-22' school year! I am very excited to work with all of you during this time and ensure your child has a successful school year!
To start off, I started my post-secondary career at Illinois State University graduating in December of 2015 with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology specializing in Physiology, Nueroscience, and Behavior. From there I worked as a teacher's aide at Allendale Association and then as a teacher's assistant at Alexander Leigh's Center for Autism until I started graduate school in 2018 at DePaul University. During my last year of graduate school, I interned at James K. Wadsworth elementary located 15 minutes away from Hyde Park. I graduated from DePaul in June of 2021. |
I am first generation Ghanaian-American. My parents immigrated from Ghana in their mid to late twenties, specifically from Koforidua and Bechem. I am a person who runs on creativity and humor. I always try to find the funny in a situation while also being supportive and attentive.
Please if you run into me in the hall way or a school event don't be afraid to say hi! |
